About Ballet Bitterroot
Poise, strength and grace are some of the gifts a dancer is left with long after the study ends. At Ballet Bitterroot Performing Arts we work hard to give our students solid technique with a creative edge. Strong discipline and positive attitudes are promoted. Our more advanced dancers are regularly informed of scholarship opportunities, which can advance their dance career
Our Mission
Our mission is to give children an opportunity to experience the performing arts firsthand. Whe willl offer productions that involve many forms of dancing and activing, while focusing on productions appropriate for young audiences. In doing this, we hope that the children will walk away with the discipline and polite etiquitte that have been part of the beautiful dance tradition for centuries.
Our Teachers
 Char Pigman's training started at age twelve in California. She became very serious immediately, and by the age sixteen began touring with a performing company. She continued to dance and tour with a number of companies, including the Santa Clara Ballet and Los Gatos Ballet. She has performed in many wonderful roles, such as Anne in "The Diary of Anne Frank" and as a soloist in "Les Sylphides". She spent two years living and taking classes in England. Char has taught ballet over the past thirty years and has recently started the Bitterroot Children's Dance Company. |
Linda Murphy - Tap
Linda has a BFA in Dance from Southern Methodist University. She has studied and performed in both New York City and Los Angeles. Over the past 11 years she has attended the Chicago Human Rhythm Project, the New York City Tap Festival, the Minneapolis Tap Festival, Tap Intensive with Heather Cornell, Montana Rhythm Explosion, as well as various master classes and regional workshops. She has served on the Montana Dance Arts Association (MDAA) Board and was awarded organization's 2004 Teachers Fellowship.

Jayne Bridgewater - Ballet
Jayne has danced with the Rocky Mountain Motions, a jazz performing company, and the Rocky Mountain Theater Ballet in Idaho Falls. She then opened her own studio, Dance Arts Academy. Now living in the Bitterroot Valley, Jayne serves on the auditioning board for the Bitterroot Childrens Dance Company.
